Health For Industry medical and allied health staff are experts in occupational health. Established more than 20 years ago by Dr Keith Adam and Dr Rob McCartney in the Brisbane area, Health For Industry now provides expert workplace health services to industry and the corporate sector across Australia and beyond.

Every Health For Industry clinic has specialist occupational medical practitioners, nurses and allied health professionals on site to treat and manage workplace health issues as they arise.

Some of our nationally (and internationally!) recognised work health specialists are introduced below.

Dr Keith AdamDr Keith Adam M.B., B.S., F.A.F.O.M.
Founder; Health For Industry; Chairman, HSA Group Clinical Advisory Board

Dr Adam has an extensive expertise across a range of industries including rail, chemicals and mining. He is chief medical adviser for both Queensland Rail and Pacific National, the nominated medical advisor to a number of Queensland mines and a regular advisor to major chemical companies on pesticides hazards.

In 1994 he was a member of the expert committee established to develop national medical standards for commercial drivers on behalf of the federal government. He also recently served as chief investigator in a breast cancer cluster study at a Brisbane workplace. He is a Fellow of the Australasian Faculty of Occupational Medicine and Royal Australasian College of Physicians.

Dr McCartney is a Fellow of the Australasian Faculty of Occupational Medicine (FAFOM), a member of the Australian & New Zealand Society of Occupational Medicine and Chair of the QLD Australasian Faculty of Occupational Medicine.

His approach is based on a sound knowledge of the workplace, which he hones through regular visits to work sites. He specialises in OH&S/HR risk management and has developed an innovative, effective drug and alcohol management program. He embraces a team approach and enjoys working with other health professionals, occupational therapists and physiotherapists to ensure the best outcomes for clients.

Dr Peter Cotton BA(Hons), MA(Clin/Psych), PhD(Melb), FAPS,
Director Psychology Services, Health For Industry

Dr Cotton is a Clinical & Organisational Psychologist specialised in occupational mental health. He works with both private and public organisations on strategic people management issues, and has also consulted with most Australian workers compensation authorities on the assessment and management of work-related psychological injuries (eg. stress).

Dr Cotton recently completed a two year prevention program working with large agencies across the Commonwealth sector sponsored by Comcare. Over the past decade he has also been involved in an organisational health research program based at the University of Melbourne, and has published numerous book chapters and research papers. 

Dr Cotton has a background working in hospital-based psychiatric services, and began his professional career working in an inpatient unit for veterans suffering from severe post traumatic stress disorder. He has served three terms on the Board of Directors of the Australian Psychological Society, becoming a Fellow in 2002.

Occupational Physician, Health For Industry

Dr Trifiletti is a senior occupational physician with more than 15 years occupational medical experience. Her work is evenly divided between delivering clinical services—individual employee health assessments—and consulting to the private and public sectors.

The majority of her clinical work comes from referrals relating to conflict, absenteeism, performance decline and minimising disability after illness or injury. Dr Trifiletti also counsels organisations on optimizing work performance through better employee health management. She has developed programs to manage work attendance, fatigue associated with shift work, prevention of acoustic shock injury and return to work.

Dr Trifiletti has a passion for learning from-and sharing her expertise with-colleagues, employers, employees and all who are committed to the best possible health and safety environment for Australian workplaces.

She has facilitated conferences regularly provides educational seminars for a wide range of industry groups nationally.

With a love of public speaking, she is determined to visit every workplace on the planet. This coincides with her other passions-travel and photography.
